Calculate your typing speed
— WPM
Enter your numbers to calculate.
How does a WPM calculator work?
Words per minute, or WPM, is a common way to describe typing speed. This calculator divides the number of words typed by the time spent in minutes to estimate gross WPM.
Why accuracy matters
Two people can have the same gross WPM while producing different amounts of correct text. When accuracy is available, an estimated net WPM can give additional context by reducing the gross result according to the accuracy percentage.
Use the calculator with a real typing test
A calculator is useful when you already know your words and time. For a fresh measurement, take a typing test first, then use your result here to understand the calculation.
